Starry nights have also arrived in Banská Bystrica, right on the eve of All Saints' Day. They bring with them the flagship of the current Polish jazz revolution. One in which the younger generations are pulling the strings. The Cosmonauts are coming to a city that hosts more jazz clubs per square meter than might appear at first glance. But we won't be visiting a club; Starry Nights will be hosted in Banská Bystrica by our favorite café, Výklad!
KOSMONAUCI
A boy band that doesn't follow the usual clichés. Kosmonauci are a group with a jazz background whose musical language draws on hip-hop, drum & bass, and improvisation. They are part of the current Polish jazz renaissance (Bloto, EABS) and replace the kitschy jazz café polishness with street grime and colorful instrumentation (saxophone, bass guitar, vibraphone, and drums). They have played concerts at almost all major and minor Polish jazz festivals and have ventured into the world of showcase core. However, Kosmonauci follow their own path, somewhere on the border between different musical worlds. Their current album, Sorry, nie tu, is proof of this.
The event was supported by public funds from the Fund for the Support of the Arts.
